A Wichita technology startup specializing in Bitcoin has drawn investment of $6 million in a funding round.

Voltage, which launched in October 2020, has secured the funds in a seed round led by Austin-based Trammell Venture Partners.

The company, which helps facilitate enterprise-grade Bitcoin transactions, says in a press release that it will use the money to drive growth and hire new employees.

The startup leverages Bitcoin’s Lightning Network and was recently highlighted by the WBJ as a local startup to watch in 2022.

"At Voltage, we are building the tools and services needed to take Bitcoin into its next phase of adoption," says CEO Graham Krizek. "By creating a simple and easy way to interface with Bitcoin and the Lightning Network, we are ushering in a new wave of users and use-cases. We are grateful for the community's support and will continue our mission to provide easy, scalable solutions to fast-track a Bitcoin standard."
