NXTUS has announced the finalists for its NXSTAGE entrepreneurial pilot contest for community health and vibrancy, with the group including one Wichita-grown product.

Among the 10 finalists is Diabetes Care, the product that helps patients better manage the disease that comes from Miguel Johns and his Wichita-based KingFit Preventive Health and Performance LLC.

The full finalist group — a full listing of which is available on the NXTUS website — beat out 126 competitors to make the cut.

“It was a large, diverse field,” Mary Beth Jarvis, executive director of NXSTAGE, tells the WBJ. “It’s exciting because it’s a clear signal that there are community game-changers out there.”
