Community involvement can look like a lot of different things for different stages of life.
Sometimes it starts with what you get to do as part of your job, said Mary Beth Jarvis, executive director of NXTUS. Sometimes, and especially for busy parents, it simply revolves around kids activities. Other times it's just getting out and supporting community events in and around Wichita.
"Go to Riverfest, go to First and Final Fridays, go to the Workroom's Second Saturday artisan markets," said Shelly Prichard, president and CEO of the Wichita Community Foundation. "That's community involvement at a whole other level.... Being a part of the community doesn't just necessarily mean be on board."
